Meet Our Staff
Pastor Dan Mauldin
Pastor Dan Mauldin has served Grace Baptist Church in Farmington, New Mexico, since February of 1998. Since 1974, he has been in the ministry and has pastored in California, Colorado, and New Mexico. His ministry has ranged from working with young people for twenty-four years as a youth pastor, teacher, coach, choir director, and Christian school principal. He continues to work with young people in Grace Baptist Academy to this day.
He is a graduate of Bob Jones University and International Baptist College where he also received an honorary doctorate. He sits on the boards of the New Mexico Association of Christian schools, the New Mexico Christian Athletic Association, and the Foundations Baptist Fellowship of New Mexico.
Pastor Dan has been married to his wife Debbie for over 45 years. They have two children, Nate and Melissa. Nate and his wife Monica have two boys, Caleb and Jack. Nate teaches and coaches in a Christian school in Denver. Monica is a social worker in a senior care facility. Melissa has taught in Christian education and secular education overseas for over 10 years.
Pastor Adam Joyner
Pastor Adam joined the staff at Grace in 2018. He attended Bob Jones University. He and his wife, Bethany, have two children: Chloe and Carter.
Mr. Brian Gottschall
Mr. Brian Gottschall has served as the principal of Grace Baptist Academy since July 2008. He has served in Christian education in some capacity since 1980 in Christian schools in Georgia, Illinois, and Wisconsin before God brought him to GBA. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University with a degree in Science Education with a Biology emphasis with an English minor, and he earned his Masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Tennessee Temple University. He has taken additional coursework in both mathematics and computer science, and has taught science, English, math, and computer classes. He has also served as a coach in a variety of sports at the schools where he has served.
In addition to serving as the administrator of GBA and teaching several secondary classes, he currently serves on the boards of the New Mexico Association of Christian School (NMACS) and of the New Mexico Association of Non-public Schools (NMANS).
He and his wife, Vicki, have been married for more than 39 years. Mrs. Gottschall also has more than 30 years of experience in teaching in Christian schools. She is currently an at-home grandmother who frequently cares for their grandchildren when their parents are working. Mr. and Mrs. Gottschall have six married children – Chuk, Jon, Brian Jr., Clare, Ben, and Bethany – and twenty-one grandchildren (so far). Charles, an accountant, and his wife Martha have ten children and live in Grand Rapids, MI. Jon and his wife Jennifer currently teach here at GBA. Brian Jr., a sergeant with the Nashville police department and a USMC Reserves First Sergeant, his wife Courtney, and their five children live in Tennessee. Clare, a nurse, and her husband Andy, a sergeant with the sheriff’s department, and their three sons live in Farmington. Ben, a sheriff’s department deputy and his wife Becca, a judicial specialist leadworker with the Aztec Magistrate Court, have one son. Bethany, a stay-at-home mother of two, and her husband Adam, also live in Farmington, where Adam serves as the youth pastor at Grace Baptist Church.
